Question for the Crash fans

So I'm watching a playthrough of the new TY the Tasmanian Tiger game, which I've only recently learned has been released. It's got most of the gameplay characteristics of the rest of the series, except that instead of a 3D platformer like the previous instalments, it's a Rayman Origins-esque 2D platformer with painted and Flash-animated graphics. It looks pretty interesting. I wish I could play it...
So it got me thinking: what if Crash Bandicoot were to make a comeback in a 2D animated platformer, like TY and Rayman?
I think it would be an interesting, if slightly restrictive, er, spin on the gameplay and the universe's characters and environments. But I want to know what you think.
